Bob Chambers Memorial Sled Dedication

Bob Chambers Memorial Sled Dedication

When Bob Chambers recently passed away, the family, at Bob’s request, asked that in lieu of flowers donations should go to Ogden Valley Adaptive Sports.  Bob, a beloved local icon, All-American ski racer and founder of Alpine Sports, was long an advocate of helping those with disabilities to enjoy the thrill of winter sports.

According to his daughter Peggie, “Forty years ago, when Dad was aware of someone who was disabled, he would go to his shop and fashion some form of skis, or sled, that would allow them to enjoy the sport he loved.”

A new mono-ski was purchased with the donations, and Ogden Valley Adaptive Sports affixed a plaque to the ski to commemorate Bob’s contributions.  Pictured with the new mono-ski are Bob’s wife Mary, his daughters Bobbie and Peggie, and Katie.

Adapt Race Day

Adapt Race Day

Adapt Race Day Set for March 3

Please join us on Friday, March 3, for our Adapt Race Day at Snowbasin Resort.

Adapt Race Day will be an afternoon of fun races on Little Cat lift for our adaptive clients. All clients are encouraged to sign up to be part of it! First-, second-, and third-place medals will be awarded at a ceremony afterwards.

At Winter Sports Day last year, we had about 15 participants racing in the Powder Puff terrain park and through the brushes on Little Cat. The afternoon was fun for everyone, ending with a pizza party & award ceremony immediately following the race.

Whether you are a racer, a parent, or a supporter who wants to cheer on the participants, please join us in celebrating this milestone event for our athletes. They have worked hard and made great strides in their skiing and snowboarding abilities. Come see how great they do!

  • Preregistration is necessary
  • Participants should arrive at Snowbasin by 12:30; races start at 1:00
  • We may run the two courses simultaneously or one after the other, depending on the number of participants and volunteers
  • Award ceremony at 3:00
